Model EV-2 Sorter/Verifier

Powerful/Versatile

The Omation Model EV-2 automatically sorts and verifies both incoming and outgoing mail, performing an important variety of tasks at a speed of up to 36,000 # 7 envelopes per hour. With a unique thickness measurement capability, the Model EV-2 makes it possible to outsort envelopes that are thicker or thinner than the standards. Measurement is not affected by paper opacity, printing, density or color. Outsorted multiples may include folded checks, paper clips, correspondence or checks only. Standard remittance payments, for example, can then be quickly processed for early bank deposit.

Processing centers around the world use it to:

• count envelopes.

Accurate/Reliable

The Model EV-2 significantly improves work flow, saving time and preventing errors in three key places:

1. Detects Accidental Discards - Verifying empty envelopes prevents discard of checks, cash and other valuable documents. This can not only decrease account reconciliations, but improve customer service as well.

2. Prevents Insertion Errors - Errors from automatic insertion equipment may not be detected until after a mailing has been completed. The result can be the time consuming task of manually reopening an entire high-volume mailing to locate an error. The Model EV-2, however, diverts sealed envelopes that contain more or less than the specified contents, preventing sensitive documents such as paychecks and dividend checks from getting into the wrong hands.

3. Catches ATM "false" Deposits - When a "false" deposit has been made to an ATM, the Model EV-2 will identify and separate the empty envelope before it can be opened. This reduces the possibility of theft and potential bank liability.

Modular/Expandable

When coupled with the Omation Model 106 or Model 202C Envelopener, the Model EV-2 will simultaneously sort and open envelopes in one continuous high-speed pass.

Optional Enhancements

Electronic Volume Counters - Resettable five digit LCD display provides count of total volume processed. An electronic outsort counter is also available.

Batch Counter - For sorting and opening envelopes in pre-selected batches when used with an Envelopener.

Coupling Set - To couple Model EV-2 with an Envelopener. This will allow for simultaneous sorting and selective opening all in one high-speed pass.

Power Conveyor/Stacker - Available with either in-line or right angle configurations to hold up to 800 sorted envelopes, depending on size.

Reverse Flow Conveyor - hold up to 500 envelopes during the sorting process.
